The folk art collections contain just over 14,000 items dating from the 16th to the 20th century. These sometimes unusual pieces reflect the customs, beliefs and expressions current in Europe during this period, and open up exciting fields of research between art history and ethnology.
The Nubar and Micheline Boyadjian collection, donated in 1997, focuses primarily on naive painting, popular imagery (secular and religious) and objects of domestic piety. It testifies to the wealth of creativity in this region.
