The museum's archives are primarily made up of institutional holdings, i.e. documents relating directly to the life of the museum, for example the sharing of collections when the UCLouvain split, the planning of current and future buildings, administration in general, exhibitions and other public activities, publications, promotion, and the various existing or former departments (conservation-restoration, education, IT and multimedia, reception, etc.).
The museum's archives also include external collections such as those of Frans Van Hamme, Arsène and Luc Matton, Fernand Mayence and the Institut supérieur d'archéologie et d'histoire de l'art.)
The archives are useful for the museum team, for students working on assignments or dissertations, and for researchers. If you would like to consult the various collections, please contact our Reception team.
